The Mission of Fellowship Baptist Church is:
to transform lives through the love, hope and joy that come from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
HISTORY OF FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH

Until First Baptist Church, Belton established this mission, Morgan's Point Resort was the largest city in the state of Texas without a church. In 1986 First Baptist Church, Belton's Pastor, Dan Crawford had a vision of a mission church in Morgan's Point Resort. From 1986 until the spring of 1989 mission work continued and on March 30, 1989 the first service was held by Reverend Lowell Warren. Nine members were present. In April of 1990 the church family of 89 members moved to Lakeview Elementary School and five acres at our current site was purchased. In September of 1991 the formal groundbreaking ceremony was held and the membership pledged $112,000 for the construction of the church. On January 26 1992 the first service was held in the new church building. Pastor Steve Thompson was the Pastor and Brother Joe Scarcella was the Music Minister. On February 16, 1992 the formal dedication service was conducted. In April of 1994 the church celebrated its Fifth Anniversary with a membership of 221 and had celebrated the Baptism of 89 souls.Early in 1996 Pastor Thompson resigned and Dr Steve Wyrick became the Interim Pastor. Pastor Shane Scott answered the call to be our Pastor in October of 1997.On 16, April, 2000 following a formal Commitment Service the congregation stepped out on faith to become an autonomous church with a target date of April 15, 2001. This commitment meant that we would surrender the significant support received from the First Baptist Church, Belton, BGCT and the Bell Baptist Association. With much hard word and the blessing of God we became an autonomous baptist Church on April 15, 2001.In June of 2001 we assumed the mortgage from First Baptist, Belton. The sum was $132,587.50; this was down from the original note balance of $328,587.75. In June of 2005 the note balance was under $60,000.00.In December of 2002 Pastor Shane Scott and his family were called to serve at another Central Texas Baptist Church. On March 2, 2003 Brother Richard Worden answered the call from God to become our Interim Pastor. The congregation entered into an Interim Ministry Program, and under the mentorship of Brother Richard Mangum, Missions Director of the Bell Baptist Association. selected the Interim Ministry Committee and then on January 18, 2004 the Pastor Search Team was elected by the church body. After several months of searching, praying and meditation Brother Mell Plunk was called to serve God as our shepherd. Brother Mell's inaugural service was conducted on July 25, 2004.On Monday, September 18, 2006 with God's blessings and many years of sacrificial giving the church mortgage was "Paid In Full".
